Hi brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus!
My name is Adah Ojechema Patrick. I am a Catholic Priest. I was born 40 years ago in Ajide village of Benue State (a Middle Belt area) of Nigeria in West Africa, to the late Mr. Adah Agbo Augustine & late Mrs. Adah Onyema Esther – both of whom were Knights of the Catholic Order of St. Mulumber. They had 12 children (10 boys & 2 girls); I am the 6th of these children. Besides English, I speak a native language called Idoma, and another African language called Hausa. I have also begun learning Spanish.
I began the journey to the Catholic Priesthood 13 years ago with a “Spiritual Year” program with the Missionaries of St. Paul in Gwagwalada – Abuja, Nigeria. Then, I proceeded to St. Augustine’s Major Seminary – Jos, Plateau State of Nigeria, where I studied Philosophy and Theology successfully for 8 years. Consequently, I was ordained a Catholic Deacon and Priest on February the 28th and November the 4th respectively, in the year 2000.
In addition to the B.D. (Bachelor of Divinity) degree I obtained from the Urbanian University in Rome, I have a Diploma certificate in General Religious Studies (i.e. Christianity, Islam & African Traditional Religion) from the University of Ibadan, Oyo State - Nigeria and a Diploma certificate in Business Administration from the University of Jos, Plateau State - Nigeria respectively. I also hold an M.A. degree in Missiology (i.e. Mission Studies) from the Middlesex University in London, U.K.
I love and watch a lot of Sports.
At various times, since 2005 to this day, I have helped out with priestly pastoral ministry in parishes in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, namely, St. Louis of France Church in La Puente, St. Clement’s Church in Santa Monica, St. Timothy’s Church in Los Angeles, and Associate Pastor at Holy Family in Glendale. I thank the parishioners, deacon and priests of St. John Baptist de la Salle, for giving me this opportunity to serve God’s people in Granada Hills. God bless you!
